The artist majored in classical composition in South Korea before studying Holzdesign und Holzbildhauerei (Wood Design and Wood Sculpture) in Germany, researching form and design based on wood.
Later, the artist founded the bamboo bicycle brand Holzrad, and currently presents works that blend woodworking, lighting, and character design through Mokak, a brand specializing in articulated wooden figures.
The artist’s work begins with connecting form and function within a single piece. The bamboo bicycle serves as both a sculptural art piece and a means of transportation, while Mokak functions as a wooden object and a mood light at the same time. Rather than existing solely for exhibition spaces, the artist hopes these works become companions that share time with people in their daily lives.

Mokak is a sculptural work that adds light to a hollow wooden figure resembling a human. It reinterprets the traditional articulated wooden doll, combining passive movement, joints symbolizing autonomy, and light symbolizing life. Through these contrasting elements, Mokak encourages us to live actively and independently.
Its simple structure and clear silhouette allow the user to change its pose and placement. Rather than a fixed sculpture, Mokak is a moving wooden figure whose form changes through interaction.
Production Year: 2024
Production Technique: Beech wood is hand-carved and assembled into a movable joint structure. The surface is sanded and finished with clear lacquer. LED components are integrated inside.
