작가 소개

A brand that records Korean aesthetics with the time of the hand. It leaves tradition as a cultural object.

HWACHANG begins by correctly preserving the deep meaning and timeless values of Korea's unique traditional aesthetics and introducing them to the world.
We dream of a tradition that lives and breathes in our ordinary daily lives today, not a tradition stuffed beyond the window of a museum.
It is not a legacy that remains only in the form of the past, but it is quietly recorded and interpreted in a sunny way so that it can be used constantly and naturally lead to a decision in life at this moment.
Sunny's way of dealing with and dealing with traditions is not just about keeping the old.
It's an active choice that keeps the time of the past flowing so that it doesn't stop,
It is a warm attitude that connects today and tomorrow so that precious values do not disappear in the passage of time.

‘Dan-a (圓雅)’ is a masterpiece that reinterprets the neat, flowing curves of the traditional Korean Bokjumeoni (fortune pouch)
into the dimensional silhouette of a modern ‘mini cylinder bag.’

Combining the characters for ‘round’ (圓, Won) and ‘elegant’ (雅, A),
it encapsulates the refined grace of Korean tradition within a clean, minimalist cylindrical frame. While cherishing the warm
narrative of the Bokjumeoni—which ancestors carried to hold precious blessings and good fortune—it has been
reborn as a compact, chic mini bag tailored for contemporary sensibilities.

‘Yeo-Jeong-Hwa (旅程花)’ is a modern archival piece born from embroidering the deep,
mystical light of Korean tradition onto the silhouette of the Boston bag—an iconic symbol of American practicality and classic style.

Inspired by its origins as a travel bag, we focused on the Boston bag's essential purpose: being a generous,
reliable companion for daily life and journeys alike.

It embodies the designer's heartfelt wish that on the path of life (旅程, Yeo-jeong),
which can often feel repetitive and monotonous,
every single moment of the person carrying this bag will bloom brilliantly like 'a single flower' (花, Hwa).

‘Hyeon (絃)’ is a masterpiece inspired by the structural and formative design of traditional Korean string instruments,
such as the Geomungo and Gayageum.

We focused on the proportions of the elongated, slim horizontal body (East-West Silhouette)—reminiscent of the long,
sturdy resonant soundboard of traditional instruments—and the 'long shoulder strap' that rises above it,
maintaining a taut tension like silk musical strings. Stripping away all surface patterns to captivate attention solely through line
and proportion, this bag is an archival piece that delivers the aesthetic of Korean lines in its most chic and minimalist form.

‘Ho-yu (弧柔)’ is a masterpiece that captures the sculptural moment where the taut 'tension' of a
tightly drawn bowstring coexists with the 'softness' inherent in traditional Korean lines.

Breaking away from the conventional, standardized rectangular frame, it focuses on the proportions of the
curved top line—which elegantly arcs and dips inward—and the asymmetric single shoulder strap that flows seamlessly
into a single, continuous line. The structural beauty of the curves flowing over a clear,
deep turquoise hue delivers a modern chicness and a high-toned beauty of empty space,
as if encountering a sophisticated contemporary sculpture.

‘ON’ is an intuitive, single-syllable name that carries layered meanings: it takes the first character of the Korean word
Onjeon-hada (meaning ‘whole’ or ‘complete’), embodies the pure Korean word On (meaning ‘all’ or ‘everything’),
and evokes the warmth of Ongi (溫氣, meaning ‘gentle warmth’).

Within its minimalist hexahedral silhouette—where decorations are stripped to the absolute limit, bordering on cold and
sharp—it entirely condenses a rigorous design and meticulous devotion toward the perfection of form. The chic,
modern exterior and the warm emotional undertone flowing within the piece achieve a flawless balance,
proclaiming a premium and uncompromising dignity that is complete and whole.
